Hymenaea courbaril – Algarrobo

Tree 8 to 15 m high and 40 to 80 cm DBH. Trunk: straight, cylindrical.

It is found from Mexico to southern Brazil, and also in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay.

Has an imperceptible odor

Sapwood is yellowish white

Regular to irregular grain

Medium to heavy texture

Moderate brightness

Wood with medium resistance to attack by woody organisms

Slightly permeable to preservatives.
