Copaifera aromatica – Cabimo

It is an endemic species of Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.

It grows fast and reaches 30 to 35 meters tall and 90cm in diameter.

The wood of the tree is relatively soft and heavy and exhibits a significant difference between the color of the wood of the sap and that of the heart.

The bark of the tree, for its part, contains oily resins used to make varnish.

Due to its uses, the resin from these trees has a high commercial value.

The outer bark is reddish brown and aromatic, and exfoliates in very thin, scaly layers.
